Ullapool
Ullapool is an excellent centre for exploring the glorious scenery of Wester Ross, while being close to local amenities. Just to the north, on the Coigach, there is some of the most spectacular scenery in the whole of the UK, with wonderful opportunities for climbing and walking, loch and sea fishing, and cycling. There is also a sandy beach at Achnahairdh.

A Bustling Town to Explore
Sited on the shores of Loch Broom, Ullapool has hotels, shops, a leisure centre with pool and even a golf course, so there is no chance of visitors being bored, whatever the weather.
There are boat trips from the harbour to the Summer Isles and to see the marine life in the area.
You can drive round to Achiltibuie, or take the 'wee mad road' to Lochinver. Your camera will never be in its case. 3 miles further to the north is the glorious beach at Achmelvich and from there, you can even continue to Durness and Cape Wrath, the north westernmost point of mainland Scotland. Or, to the south, there is Gairloch and the famous sub-tropical gardens at Poolewe.
