Seaview Log Cabins Strontian
A group of excellent log cabins (made from solid whole Scandinavian pines) with a magnificent situation some 20 miles south west of Fort William near the village of Strontian. They are on the route to the Ardnamurchan peninsula which is the most westerly part of Scotland and an escapist's paradise.

A Stunning Part of Scotland
To get to Strontian, turn off the Oban to Fort William road just north of Onich and hop across Loch Linnhe on the Ardgour to Corran car ferry (10 minute journey, no booking necessary) then continue for about 13 miles west and you come to the village at the head of Loch Sunart. This pretty and peaceful village has the unexpected distinction of having had the element strontium named after it when it was first discovered there in 1790!

These excellent log cabins are spread around the hillside on the edge of the village, all with plenty of ground around them and with superb views of the water and the mountains from their vantage point over the loch.
The village, with shops, petrol, bistro and a couple of hotels, is within strolling distance and beyond it the road narrows to single track and winds westwards along the side of the loch through a wonderful countryside of old oak woods and breathtaking shoreline.
The comfortable cabins are an ideal base for relaxing amid this glorious scenery, with opportunities to explore Ardnamurchan, Sunart, Morven and Moidart and even take a further easy ferry hop from Lochaline (17 miles) across to the Isle of Mull.

I have never been disappointed with any of the properties booked through Unique Cottages. They may not always be the most luxurious but their positions are “unique” and they are generally most comfortable. Having used this company for 15 years it would be nice if there was more recognition/reward for loyal customers.

Really well presented home, with amazing views over the ocean. The house itself is upside down, with bedrooms above and below the main living area, but this affords a large living space which looks out over the harbour and into the sea. The home is well furnished, with an excellent kitchen and bathrooms (the bath is great). The owners are very friendly and easily contactable, and the village is really nice - once you get used to the steps! Local pub is also very friendly, and we would recommend the pub quiz every Thursday! The locals are also very friendly and will happily chat with you.

Was disappointed to learn (after I had booked and paid in full for the cottage) that there was a very steep drive up to the property. This information should have been available in the general property description, because anyone with mobility issues would find it very difficult to walk up, or down the driveway if not impossible!
