Drumnadrochit
The village of Drumnadrochit village lies on the western shore of gorgeous Loch Ness and is home to two different Loch Ness Monster Museums. Take a self-guided tour around the Loch Ness Centre and Exhibition or visit Nessieland that children are sure to love with its various Nessie sculptures that are dotted around. There are even a couple outside to take your photo with if you don’t manage to spot the real thing on your travels!
Just 5 minutes’ drive away from Drumnadrochit is the well known Urquhart Castle in its magnificent position overlooking stunning Loch Ness. Boat trips run out on the loch, departing from the Celtic Crafts Gift Shop in the village, for some Nessie spotting and a closer look at the castle from the unique vantage point of the water. The boat is a serious piece of kit in itself and is fitted with sonars, a radar, satellite navigation and GPS that allow for some high tech Nessie hunting!
