Strathspey
In the very heart of the Scottish Highlands, the name Strathspey strikes an instant chord with fishermen and lovers of Scotch Whisky the world over. This is a country of pretty villages such as Nethy Bridge (or Nethy as it is locally known), heather hills and rushing mountain streams which both feed the mighty River Spey and provide the water base for the many famous distilleries to be found along its banks.
The forest parks here are a haven for a wonderful range of wildlife - proud stags, golden eagles, pine martens, red squirrels, osprey, grouse and even the rare wildcat are all to be found here.
