Anstruther & Cellardyke
The coastline of the picturesque East Neuk of Fife is dotted with sleepy little fishing villages, some of which run into each other. Two such villages are Anstruther (all facilities) and Cellardyke, each of which retains its own harbour and beach. They are just 10 miles south of St Andrews, 'the home of golf' with its university, ruined cathedral and wonderful beaches.
Anstruther has several excellent restaurants and visitors can take a boat trip to the Isle of May with its Stevenson lighthouse and seabird colonies. There are excellent coastal walks and bicycles and boats can be hired at Elie (6 miles). Most villages along the coast also have their own golf course.
